Our Adventure at the Hersbruck Festival 🎸
The Hersbruck Guitar Festival is a place we had heard about for a long time. For 25 years it has been bringing together guitarists from all over the world, and it has something truly special – an atmosphere that makes everyone who loves music and the art of playing guitar feel right at home.
A Concert Full of Emotions
We had the honor of performing there as a guitar duo and presenting two brand-new works – world premieres by Cuban composer Tulio Peramo. It was an incredible moment for us. Those sounds were heard for the very first time in Hersbruck, and they will stay with us for a long time. We also played our own arrangements, and right after us the legendary Los Angeles Guitar Quartet took the stage.
Encounters and Inspiration
The festival is not only about the stage, but also about the people you meet there. Conversations with fellow musicians, special moments with the audience, and getting to know the organizers – all of this makes Hersbruck such a unique place. It has a warm, family-like atmosphere while at the same time holding enormous prestige in the guitar world. Sharing post-concert conversations with Badi Assad, Jon Gomm, and Yamandu Costa was truly unforgettable.
Dreams Come True
Looking back, just a few years ago we wouldn’t have imagined standing on that stage as a guitar duo. And yet – dreams really do come true if you keep moving step by step and never stop believing in music. To top it all off, as the grand finale and a surprise closing of the festival, we had the chance to perform together with Yamandu Costa.
Gratitude
We are deeply grateful to the organizers for the invitation and for creating a space where the guitar can sound so beautifully. We return full of inspiration, with our heads buzzing with ideas and our hearts overflowing with gratitude.
Milonga by Jorge Cardoso in a Guitar Duo Interpretation
Latin American music has always had a special place in the repertoire of classical guitarists. One of the most inspiring pieces that beautifully combines tradition and emotion is “Milonga” by the Argentine composer Jorge Cardoso. For decades, this composition has captivated both soloists and guitar duos around the world.
In our interpretation, we want to show that playing the guitar is not just about technique, but above all about dialogue – a conversation between two instruments. A guitar duo allows us to capture subtle contrasts, from delicate melodies to the pulsating rhythms characteristic of South American music.
“Milonga” is often performed at guitar concerts – audiences love it for its melody and dance-like character, while guitarists value the opportunity to combine virtuosity with lyricism.

Samba – Our Arrangement of Yamandu Costa’s Masterpiece
Yamandu Costa is a truly exceptional figure in the world of guitar music. His compositions blend Brazilian tradition, incredible virtuosity, and deep emotion. One piece that has especially moved us is Samba Pro Rapha — a work full of energy, yet rich in subtle musical storytelling.
Our Guitar Duo Arrangement
As a guitar duo, we decided to approach this piece in our own way. But it wasn’t just about faithfully recreating the original — we created an arrangement that includes a completely new second guitar part. This gave the piece a new dimension and a fresh sound.
This experience shows how many possibilities playing the guitar offers. Even with a composition as well-known and refined as this one, it’s possible to add something personal that makes the music truly unique.
Why Samba Pro Rapha?
This piece by Yamandu Costa immediately caught our attention. It carries the joy of samba, the freedom of improvisation, and an immense dose of emotion. For guitarists, it’s both a technical challenge and a pure pleasure to play.
Guitar as a Language of Emotion
Working on Samba Pro Rapha reminded us that the guitar is more than just an instrument — it’s a language of emotion. Through it, you can tell a story, share a mood, and make listeners feel something deeply personal.

New Music Project – Classical Guitar, Jazz and Percussion in One
We are guitarists with a classical background, but we’ve never been afraid to step outside the boundaries of genre. For years, we’ve been fascinated by playing guitar in all its forms – from the subtle beauty of classical music to the energetic pulse of Latin American rhythms. That’s where we love to experiment: reinterpreting pieces, deconstructing them, and adding our own personal musical layer.
A New Path – with Special Guests
For our latest project, we invited two extraordinary artists. Together with us joined Marek Napiórkowski, a legend of the Polish jazz scene and an outstanding guitarist, as well as Bodek Janke, a highly creative percussionist. Together we created something fresh – music where the warm sound of the classical guitar intertwines with the sharp resonance of the acoustic guitar and the rich colors of percussion instruments.
Our Inspirations
On the EP you’ll find our own arrangements of works by masters such as Egberto Gismonti, Yamandu Costa, Marco Pereira, Carlos Lyra, and Jorge Cardoso. These are compositions that have inspired us for a long time and encouraged us to shape them into our own interpretations.
The Evolution of Our Duo
This EP is our second album and it shows how far we’ve come as a guitar duo. Once known only for classical music, we now present sounds that have been living in our hearts for years. Adding percussion turned out to be the missing piece of our musical puzzle. Thanks to this, our music has become richer and continues to reach new audiences.
Release and Live Energy
The release of our new album is planned for April 2024 – available both digitally and on vinyl. But we don’t want to separate ourselves from our listeners by performing only in sterile concert halls. What we love most is the live connection with the audience, without stiffness or pretension. The energy we give during concerts always comes back to us doubled.
Why Listen to Guitar Music?
Our mission is to show that instrumental guitar music doesn’t have to be elitist or difficult to enjoy. We’re breaking stereotypes and proving that the guitar can entertain, move, and inspire. This is music for everyone – and listening to guitar really is an amazing experience!
